Sudin Vittal, M.D.
Dr. Sudin Vittal is a Board Certified Internist and Gastroenterologist who has been in private practice for over 30 years.
He obtained his M.D. from the University of Mysore, Bangalore Medical College, Bangalore, India. Following his post graduate training in the U.K. and the U.S.A., he completed Fellowship Training in Gastroenterology at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Chicago. During that time, he was involved with research on Hepatitis B at Hecktone Institute of Research.
Moving to the Bay Area in 1973 to establish his private practice, he was the first one to design, build and run an Endoscopy Center.
Dr. Sudin Vittal has been active in hospital affairs as the Chairman of Department of Medicine, Chairman of Division of Gastroenterology and Chief of Medical Staff of Regional Medical Center of San Jose. At the present time, he is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the hospital.
During the initial phase of practice, Dr. Sudin Vittal also enjoyed teaching G.I. fellows and students from Stanford University while they were on rotation at Valley Medical Center of San Jose. For that, he was awarded the title of Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Stanford.
